Anatomy and movement
Anatomy helps practitioners understand joints, muscles, posture and movement. It can improve teaching cues and help explain why a posture may need individual modification.
Physiology and breathing
Exercise physiology and respiratory science can help describe how movement and breathing interact with the body. A mechanism or theory should not automatically be presented as proof of a health outcome.
Research literacy
Good scientific practice distinguishes evidence from opinion. Study design, sample size, comparison groups, measurement and limitations all matter when interpreting research.
Responsible teaching
Scientific language should support safe, realistic teaching rather than exaggerated medical claims. Yoga education is strongest when curiosity is combined with humility about what the evidence actually shows.
